Koa Rothman and Bruce Irons are back at it again. Ever since the pair were signed on by fledgling apparel brand Darc Sport, they have been spotted in the water together with increasing regularity. The latest session went down at Pipeline, during the latest of a long run of swell benders in the area.
The session ended up being short and sweet, but not unsuccessful. “I caught one wave and came in. Bruce packed one,” explained Rothman afterwards. “It was sick. Good to see him out there and ended up being really fun. Nice, easy crowd. One wave – made my day.”
That was far from the end of it, though. The rest of Rothman’s edit crams together a few more returns to the storied break, along with a rotating cast of notable surfers – from a solo session at Pipe that included a near-catastrophic wipeout, to hanging out with a gaggle of Florences, to once again sharing the lineup with Irons.
“Another day, another swell bender,” he explained as he suited up for the second time. “Waves are all-time again. There’s just no stopping in sight. Another two weeks of this. Foreseeing a big send after all this is said and done.”
