The Inertia

They don’t call Paris the city of love for no reason. The place has an old world beauty, that’s perfect to compliment any romantic getaway. And like most cities that have a booming tourism industry, there are various ways to get around to see the sights – by foot, by car, by metro. Add SUP to the list.

Every year, the River Seine, which cuts through the heart of Paris, plays host to hundreds of SUP racers chomping at the bit for an opportunity to paddle adjacent the Eiffel Tower, and Notre Dame. The event is called the Nautic SUP Paris Crossing. And for 2016, over 600 competitors made the paddle in chilly winter temps.

Bruno Hasulyo took the win in the men’s field, while Susak Molinero took one for the women. In a race like this, though, victory may be an added bonus to touring centuries old iconic sights by SUP.
