Well, now we all know just how crazy Rob Kelly is. And certainly we’ve all been there before. Whether in the lineup or sitting on the shore with your boys, when it’s big there’s always going to be one guy using the moment to show everybody just how crazy he is. “You won’t do it,” somebody will say. And in that moment, it’s on. Maybe you’re that guy poking and prodding. Maybe you’re the one with no choice but to put up or shut up. Rob Kelly is the latter.
“Little under gunned out there on the 4’6 Beater board. Not one of my brightest moments but sometimes the “you won’ts” from the boys are just too real,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
So here’s what Kelly did with that four and a half foot foamie at macking Off the Wall, thanks to a little poking and prodding from the boys. Is a cartwheel down the face of a North Shore freight train worth it for a few high fives? Assuming that lip doesn’t knock you out on its own when it comes down on top of you, I vote yes.
But in all seriousness, Kelly did tell SURFER Magazine that once he got back to the beach he apologized to lifeguards, shook their hands and promised never to do this again. Then he got that “pretty solid cheer” from the boys, which he admits was cool too.

“You won’t do it.”
