Brodi Sale burying rail on a Slater Designs.
If you’re looking to get a few pointers on rail technique, you might look to YouTube and poke around some videos featuring Tom Curren, Kelly Slater, or even CT rookie Conner Coffin. They are, of course, exemplary representatives of beautiful rail-to-rail surfing, but what would you say if we told you that a boy who was born in 2003 could teach you how to properly execute a turn? You’d probably tell us to kick rocks, but you would eventually bite your tongue and retract your doubts.
Hailing from Kona, Hawaii, 13-year-old Brodi Sale possesses a knack and technique that far, far exceeds his age. It’s unbelievable. It’s a breath of fresh air to see a grom hunt for barrels and big turns as much as most kids his age look for air reverses. And how good does that Slater Designs look under his feet? Yikes! This boy can surf! Get used to that handsome little mug, you’ll be seeing a lot more of him in the future.
