The Search is something that’s ingrained in surfers. Of course, Rip Curl came along, saw the potential, and marketed the shit out of it, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s still ingrained in surfers. Hell, it’s ingrained in nearly everyone. Travel has long been something that people need to do. There are a million quotes about it–”it’s not the journey, it’s the destination”, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page”, etcetera, etcetera, and they’re all true. Travel is good. Looking is good. Finding… well, finding is awesome, but the harder you have to look, the better the find.
And what Kylian Guerin, Vincent Duvignac, and Miguel Blanco find in the film above? Holy shit, it’s perfect. Aquamarine colors, white sand, good friends, and no one out. The wave itself is nothing new (you’ve likely seen it before)… but perfect nonetheless.
