The Inertia

The East Cape of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula has long offered traveling surfers the promise of warm cerulean water, cheap beer, and close to vacant lineups. It’s these simple pleasures that are all most surfers need, but who knew Baja could also be a training ground for a world title campaign?

With a win at Bells and a second at Keramas, Italo Ferreira is the world title dark horse few saw galloping to the top of the Jeep Men’s Leaderboard back in March. Be that as it may, the man’s explosiveness and technical prowess in the air looks good in yellow, tbh. Apparently, some time in Mexico with newly minted CTer Griffin Colapinto and the rest of the Billabong crew was just the whimsical travel the Brazilian needed to head into the year with a clear mind.

Who knows, maybe come next year reclusive trips to Mex will be the norm among world title hopefuls. As long as they upload the edits to the web for all to see, we don’t mind a bit.
