JJF knows his boards like the back of his hand. The one word that most adequately describes his boards is “dialed.” This is a result of a long-lasting shaper-rider relationship, in which great communication and trial and error have created the perfect board, as well as optimal performance.
One change that Pyzel has been incorporating into his designs is adding volume to different parts of the board, particularly in the nose and chest area. These modifications, according to Pyzel, allow for the ability to shorten the board while maintaining its paddling power.
