The Inertia

“Wonderlust” was heart-felt passion project. It all started with the wish of being truly independent of sponsors and the constraints of big-budget productions — a wish to do our own thing: spontaneous, with just a couple of friends and an easy set up and crew to work with. And then there was the freeing of myself from the constant demands and rigors of slopestyle competitions. I wanted to ski, but to ski in a way that inspired me, in a way that showed and expressed my love for it.

I tried to qualify for the Olympics in Slopestyle but knee injuries kept me back and I was not able to get to where I wanted and needed to be for this event. But in that there was a silver lining — I was now able to ride powder, explore the mountains, and enjoy skiing without the unnecessary pressures.

Hence, free to ski, and I mean really ski, I started this journey with my friends.

We initially wanted to go to Canada and experience the classic catskiing powder, but we soon realized that we wouldn’t be able to stretch our budget enough to do everything we had our eyes on, so we decided to stay in the Alps instead, and enjoy what we have right here. The Alps are amazing because you can reach every part of it in a maximum of eight to nine hour drive — you will always find a place where there is good snow. And that is why we decided to call this journey our “Wonderlust.”

Rather than relying solely on hardcore action shots, we focused on high quality beautiful shots as well, wanting to inspire people of all skills and interest.

We hope that in one way or another, it inspires you to chase your own “Wonderlust.”
