The Inertia

When people visit San Francisco, the same five places are always found on their itineraries. The Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, China Town, Alcatraz Island, and Lombard Street, among a few others, are the must-see attractions when visiting Shaky Town, USA.

Enter the freeboard, a  six-wheeled skateboard which effectively acts like a snowboard but on pavement. Now imagine that down the most appropriate of the must-see attractions: Lombard.

Lombard Street is famously known for its eight hairpin turns, which, for some reason, people love driving down. Mike Hoppe, however, has a different way of checking out one the most crooked streets in the world. Here he is weaving in and out of cars and throwing a shaka to a dude riding a Segway while cruising down Frisco’s most iconic roads on his freeboard — or, rather, Freebord.
