Ooh la la la la, indeed. Maxence Muzaton, a Frenchman and Olympic alpine skier pulled off an absolutely incredible save at the World Alpine Skiing Championships in Italy on Sunday when he spun out of control at 117 kilometers per hour. Digging in hard to avoid a gate on his left, Maxence lost his edge and bounced on the hard pack snow, sending him sideways. A well-timed, or just plain lucky, nosebutter on skis definitely not made for such activities saved him from what would have certainly been a nasty wipeout. Rotating a full 180 degrees to land switch, Maxence was able to ride it out, but missed a gate and was disqualified. The French commentary is by far the best I’ve heard so far, hit play above and turn on your sound – but be sure the volume isn’t all the way up.
