The Inertia

Seeing a great white swimming around just a few feet off the sand would be a little scary, especially for a pair of little girls. So when a shark estimated to be around 11 feet long took an exploratory trip to the shallows at Nauset Beach, Massachusetts, a few beachgoers went into hysterics. There was a cooler head, however, and she was not impressed with the kids’ reaction. “It’s not coming on the sand,” she told them. “This isn’t Sharknado. What are you doing?”

Although the woman does have point, there have been more shark encounters in the area than usual. Just one day before the video above was taken, a great white apparently charged a diver in the same stretch of water. On August 15th, 61-year-old William Lytton was swimming about six feet of water when a shark bit his left leg. That incident took place about 25 miles from Nauset Beach.
