The Inertia

Takes about 15 minutes, so the perfect amount of time to pack in your tent or set up those fishing lines. And while you might be one of those who are more worried about the caloric breakdown/macro ratios, there is no denying that eggs and bacon are exponentially more satiating than whatever protein bar you’re muling.

What do you need? Hot Coals; Paper Bag; Bacon; Eggs; Stick (1 to 1.5 Feet).

Basically, you’re going to start with nice hot coals, not a fire, so make sure the fire has indeed died down. Then you’re going to do as follows:

Open the paper bag.

Employing a piece of bacon, “grease” up the bottom of that paper bag, including the side walls an a couple inches above the bottom.

Neatly lay three to four pieces of bacon across the bottom of the paper bag (or however many it takes to fill the bottom).

Crack two or three eggs and carefully place the yolk and surrounding cytoplasm ON TOP of the bacon.

Roll the top down firmly. Then poke a hold through the pinched closure with stick and push through.

Cook eggs and bacon (bag and all) smack dab on top of hot coals for 15 minutes. If the bag begins to smoke, go ahead and pull it from the coals and check on the eggs and bacon, putting it back on the hot coals if the eggs are not yet the consistency you want.

When they’re ready to eat, they should look like this:

Eggs

Eat them straight or sandwich them in between a breakfast roll… whatever you want! With a belly full of REAL grub, the day is yours!

Also, the above video by North Country Outdoor Guys is of higher quality, which is why we included it, but our favorite instructional out there (as well as the one that inspired NCOG) is from the IntenseAngler, seen below. Whichever you choose to follow, they’re effectively the same steps.
