The Inertia

Leave it to the Russians to come up with something really awesome to navigate the flooding of super-typhoon Goni. Now, Goni is no joke. It’s ravaged the Phillipines, destroying more than a thousand homes and displacing more than 30,000 people who had to be evacuated. In Japan more than 100,000 were advised to evacuate when a photo from NASA showcased a storm that was covering half of the sea of Japan. Luckily, by that point the storm was starting to weaken. So by the time Goni hit the East Coast of Russia there were at least a few residents who felt it was time to get radical.

Now car surfing is incredibly uncool. This is definitely not car surfing. And we wouldn’t exactly call this “surfing” anyway since the Radical Russians are pretty much wake boarding behind an SUV in the streets of Vladivostok. But hey, there’s plenty of water for this crew to have themselves a good time and to their credit at least the one dude is wearing a helmet. Plus, the rest of the city is having one helluva a time commuting on these roads so at the very least we can credit a few people for making the most of it. As long as nobody’s getting hurt this seems like a darn good way to spend your rush hour.
