The Inertia

Jarrett Martin is an inspiration. The Seattle-born Dubai-based American has long shared a passion for a pursuit of the extreme. But in his teens, his passion for this pursuit left him paralyzed from the chest down when an accident on a BASE jump broke his back, tore an aorta, and wrecked his lungs and kidneys.

However, that wasn’t the end of his story. Jarret wouldn’t allow it. His body devastated but passion intact, he kept his eyes sky high through his recovery and kept the dream of alive, a dream that has now seen him as the first disabled person to successfully make a BASE jump unassisted.

These days, as one of two master parachute riggers in the United Arab Emirates, he lives a life of BASE jumping and speedflying…

…as well as wingsuit flying.

Yep, an inspiration.
