The North Shore is a stunningly beautiful place to be. Everywhere you look, it’s postcard perfect. Shafts of light stream through the trees, filtering through a fine mist of saltwater that hovers in the air on big days. It’s green to the point of excess. Bright flowers coat the trees, hanging over beautiful people who laugh from inside their sun-darkened skin. Sunrise, a mid-day drenching tropical rain, or sunset, it doesn’t matter–it’s perfect. And that’s just from the ground.
From the air, it’s even more stunning. The video you see above was shot on December 7th by a skydiver, pilot, rigger, and mechanic from Hawaii who spends his days leaping out of perfectly good airplanes thousands of feet above paradise with a company called Skydive Hawaii. “Big surf yesterday,” he wrote. “Saw some good outer reef spots from the air during my skydive.” Have you ever wanted to throw yourself out of a plane so badly?
