Nature’s a bit grim sometimes, isn’t it? Grim, but awesome. Not awesome in the “like totally awesome” way, but awesome as in awe-inspiring. It’s a cruel, dog-eat-dog world out there for a lot of creatures. There are predators and there is prey — those are just the facts of life, and sharks have to eat too. While it might be grim, it’s fascinating to see just how powerful some of those predators are. Case in point: this pair of great white sharks feasting on a dead dolphin just feet away from a boat full of spectators.
According to the person who filmed it, the pair of sharks found the dolphin off the coast of California. “I don’t know who the folks on the boat are,” The Malibu Artist wrote on his YouTube description, “but they got a first-row seat to the show. A rare sight, and certainly one of the most unique things I’ve seen just off the shore.”
On close inspection, the sharks both appear to have tags on them. We’d bet that the researchers would be pretty excited to see this footage.
