Hardline? Sounds like an appropriate condition for our hearts right after watching that raw, untouched edit.
In many ways, these kinds of intense POVs of insane mountain bike trails exhibit exactly why mountain biking is such an immersive outdoor experience: you’re focused in on this trail, really in the zone pushing yourself to and past your personal limits, all the while being engulfed by Mother Nature, glimpses of her beauty blazing by in your peripheral; you’re aware, but in a truly natural way, this time in mid-Wales countryside.

Anyway, per the YouTube description: “Last year’s Red Bull Hardline MTB track was one of the most demanding ever seen, pushing the sport of downhill mountain biking to the limit. Huge rock gardens, giant slab rolls, tight wood sections, technical natural features and the now infamous road gap created a track to push downhill racing to the next level. This year, Dan Atherton set about raising the bar once again. Here we see Dan’s brother and former World Champion, Gee Atherton, testing the track for the first time, giving us a glimpse of what the riders will experience this weekend.”
You have to love Gee’s exasperated hoots of excitement when he launches off an unanticipated kicker.
