The Inertia

Travis Rice loves getting tubed. Yes, the man is a surfer in the off-season, in case you didn’t know, but no we’re not talking about in the ocean. Rice loves getting properly pitted through natural arches that are square in the middle of backcountry lines that have a propensity to considerably up the sketch factor.

Apparently, T. Rice’s love for natural arches is well-known. To the point that during a recent adventure in the Tordrillo Mountains in Alaska, a local helicopter pilot told Travis about an arch he’d spotted that Rice might find appealing. He did.

Jokingly, Travis explains that riding through a natural arch will set your biological clock back ten years. But, after successfully navigating what’s by all accounts a super sketchy line, Craig McMorris admits that he feels changed.

“I don’t know how to explain it. When I rode that thing and I came out at the other side, I was different,” he says.

Maybe Trav is onto something?
