Blair Conklin can be relied upon to pop up anywhere in the world a wave can be skimmed. This time, his infectious wanderlust took him to a wild Brazilian wedge, to compete in the latest stop on the United Skim Tour.
The action went down at Ubatuba, Brazil. There, some of the world’s best skimmers met at Sununga beach – known to many as the skimboard capital of Brazil. Nestled next to a hulking granite slab is an unforgiving slab like no other. It’s an unpredictable, challenging, monstrous wave – and also perfect for skimboarding. Luckily, YouTube mainstay Skid Kids was there to document it all, as revealed in the latest post to their channel.
Ubatuba is the second stop on the UST, after a season opener in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico last month. From there, competitors will go to Nag’s Head, NC, Dewey Beach, DE, Laguna Beach, CA, and then cap it all off at Exile Oktoberfest in Newport Beach, CA.
