Glacial crevasses give most of us who spend time in the mountains the willies. The thought of falling into one and being stuck for any amount of time is, well, f***** terrifying. That’s why we’re glad this drone is exploring this crevasse, and not us (and we hope we never have to). The Swiss company, Flyability, created these caged drones–or “collision-tolerant flying robots”–for all sorts of industrial purposes like exploring mines or old ventilation shafts in buildings (more creepy places). But this view of glaciated terrain is fantastic.
