Just when you thought the US Open couldn’t get any stranger, a handful of people attempted breaking a watermelon between their legs. Nathan Florence posted the insanity on Instagram on Friday proclaiming, “The watermelon challenge is over and we have a champion! Was hilarious and hope everyone had a good time! @vansusopen @vanssurf.” Nathan’s right, it’s definitely hilarious. If these folks were hoping for some free Vans gear, they sure deserve it. The whole thing proves that even if the waves are terrible, there’s plenty of entertainment to be had on the sand. And maybe that people will do anything for free stuff.
