Position: Account Executive
The Inertia, The Planet’s Largest Network of Thinking Surfers, is seeking an Account Executive to develop relationships with strategic clients as well as to identify and execute on new revenue opportunities while remaining committed to the integrity and quality of our editorial offerings.
Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics:
- 1 – 2 years of experience in digital sales. Candidates should be well versed in online marketing and familiar with CPMs, CPCs, and developing the structure and maintenance of online advertising transactions.
- A history of strong relationships with clients who fit well with our mission is a triple plus.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently. Set your own hours. Be productive. Be resourceful.
- Excellent communication skills. Emails should never have typos.
- Enthusiasm. We love what we’re doing, and that’s how we plan to keep it. Complainers, snarky folk, and those not radiating good energy need not apply.
- Bachelor’s Degree from four-year university.
- Good person. Healthy? Love surfing? Reading? Music? Art? Environment? We love passionate people, and a little humility goes a long way. Also, please be familiar with our product.

Position: Content Manager Intern
The Inertia, The Planet’s Largest Network of Thinking Surfers, is seeking a Content Manager Intern to share in editorial responsibilities. The position will involve formatting, editing, and posting content to the site on a daily basis as well as helping to develop and execute the editorial calendar. The Content Manager Intern will correspond regularly with contributors and is encouraged to contribute original content to the site. This is an unpaid internship, and ideally will be eligible for school credit.
Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics:
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with emerging technology. Proficient in WordPress, HTML, Photoshop, and MailChimp and/or other e-newsletter delivery services.
- Eligible for school credit and currently completing coursework at a four-year College or University in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field.
- Excellent written and communication skills. No typos.
- Ability to be flexible, self-motivated, and work from home.
- A strong knowledge and/or interest in surf culture, the Internet, and new technology.
- Enthusiasm. We love what we’re doing, and that’s how we plan to keep it. Complainers, snarky folk, and those not radiating good energy need not apply.
