Account Executive

The Inertia, Surfing’s Definitive Online Community, is seeking an Account Executive to secure new business and develop relationships with strategic clients.  The Inertia Account Executive will also identify and execute on new revenue opportunities while remaining committed to the integrity and quality of our editorial offerings.

Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics:

  • 2+ years of experience in digital sales. Candidates should be well versed in online marketing and familiar with CPMs, CPCs, and comfortable structuring and maintaining digital ad buys.
  • Candidates who already have strong working relationships with clients who fit well with our mission are highly preferred.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently. Set your own hours. Be productive. Be resourceful.

Developer

The Inertia, Surfing’s Definitive Online Community, is seeking a programmer/developer to make technical improvements to The Inertia’s website, user interface, user experience, and mobile offerings as soon as possible. The developer will work closely with our CTO as well as the editorial and sales team to create best in class technological solutions across all platforms, ensuring that The Inertia is the leader in the action sports technology and media space.

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Java, and all relevant coding languages
  • Experience developing applications, mobile interfaces, websites, and forward looking technical solutions for media platforms

The Inertia Social Media Intern

The Inertia, Surfing’s Definitive Online Community, is seeking a Social Media Intern to help grow The Inertia’s presence across all social outlets. The position will also involve crafting a distinct voice and strategy for social growth. The Social Media intern will work closely with our editorial and sales staff in coordinating and executing The Inertia’s social media calendar and strategy. This is an unpaid internship, and ideally will be eligible for school credit.

Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics:

  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with emerging technology. Should be highly active and familiar with best practices on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and other emerging social platforms.
  • Proficient in WordPress, HTML, Photoshop, and MailChimp and/or other e-newsletter delivery services.
  • Excellent written and communication skills. No typos.

Content Manager and Editorial Intern

The Inertia, Surfing’s Definitive Online Community, is seeking a Content Manager Intern to share in editorial responsibilities. The position will involve formatting, editing, and posting content to the site on a daily basis as well as helping to develop and execute the editorial calendar. The Content Manager Intern will correspond regularly with contributors and is encouraged to contribute original content to the site. This is an unpaid internship, and ideally will be eligible for school credit.

Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics:

  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with emerging technology. Proficient in WordPress, HTML, Photoshop, and MailChimp and/or other e-newsletter delivery services.
  • Eligible for school credit and currently completing coursework at a four-year College or University in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field.
  • Experience working at school paper or as a journalist preferred.
  • Excellent written and communication skills. No typos.
  • Ability to be flexible, self-motivated, and work from home.
  • Ability to write professional-level stories, ready to publish on current events and breaking news on extremely short notice
