Remember that time when Alejo Muniz beat both Kelly Slater and Mick Fanning last year at Pipeline? No? Most people don’t.
Muniz, while a pretty well-known guy, isn’t as well-known as he should be. His surfing is far better than his scores reflect–and that’s not a dig on judging. Maybe it’s performance anxiety. But every now and then we see glimpses of his surfing brilliance. Here’s hoping we get to see more of it.
