The Inertia

Do you ever wonder about what’s under your feet when you’re surfing? Chances are good that you do. Surfing, perhaps more than any other sport (or pastime or whatever you want to call it) is affected by the equipment one uses. Shapers talk about flex and torsion and sometimes vibration, but measuring those things hasn’t ever really been something anyone sees the numbers for. Generally, it’s lenght, width, and volume, but now you could see a few extra numbers tacked on: lateral flex, torsional flex and overall dampness/vibration. So what does this stuff ACTUALLY mean for the everyday surfer? Well, not much. But numbers are nice, right?
