Ever dream of ski bumming for a winter but are worried about the rent costs? Maybe you have a plot of land in the mountains you want to build a ski hut on to access the goods? Or a friend will let you use a small plot of land for free? There are options. Many options, actually.

Check this out: more rustic than other versions out there, Relaxshacks A-Frame cabins cost about $1,200 to build and provide cooking facilities, beds and storage area in a compact, easy-to-construct package. You can order the plans and build your own palace. Yeah, it may not be a longterm fix but if you use salvaged lumber, you can have yourself an eco-friendly lodge. Some of the plans do allow for more square footage.

The cabins were devised by Derek Diedricksen, who first created his brand of tiny huts to solve his own affordable housing conundrum. Diedricksen now hosts tiny house-building workshops. His next clinic is February 5-7 in Brockton, MA. Diedricksen even builds houses that can be carted around on two wheels to whichever remote enclave your heart desires.

The tiny house movement is on and we’ve given you several options over the last few months. And there’s even listings now for folks selling theirs and several Youtube video series on Tiny Houses around the country. Stay tuned. We’ll give you more options as they come across our networks. We’re dreamers too.
