Remember that time Robbie Maddison rode a dirt bike at Teahupoo? Chances are good that if you own a device that connects to the internet, you do. You may then also be familiar with one of the chief complaints: “that’s not a dirt bike,” said the complainers. “That’s a dirt bike with skis!” Or “that’s not a dirt bike, that’s a Jetski with wheels!” People were very upset. “THE ENVIRONMENT!” they screamed in all caps. “INSERT COMMENT ABOUT SOUL SURFING HERE!”
Well, someone took it upon themselves to bridge that gap. No longer will anyone have to question whether it’s a dirt bike with skis or a Jetski with wheels… because now there’s the Biski from Gibbs Sports. Finally, right?!
The Biski tops out at around 80 mph on pavement, and can hit nearly 40 mph in the water. It’s got a 2-cylinder motor, and you will most likely never, ever see it in stores near you. On “researching” the Biski, I found that Gibbs Sports also makes this:
Which, for some reason, is way cooler than the Biski. In a consumer-driven world full of completely pointless products, the Quadski, while most certainly unnecessary, would be far less embarrassing to be seen on than the Biski. And you know all those times you’ve been stuck slogging down some endless dirt path towards a wave that’s an hour long paddle out? Well, problem solved. No word yet on Laird’s upcoming sponsorship, but it does seem to be a foregone conclusion.
