The Inertia

Last year, when a great white of the most epic proportions was filmed off an island in Mexico, the world was stunned. Measuring a staggering 23 feet long, the shark was named Deep Blue, and she is believed to be the biggest great white ever filmed.

One of the divers in the original video that quickly made its rounds through the tangled web that is the internet was a man named Michael Maier. He, of course, had much more than 3:20 worth of footage of the behemoth, and a few days ago, he released a bunch more to the world.

“When we entered the water we had to wait because there was nothing to see,” said Maier. “All of a sudden out of the deep blue, there she came. We realized almost immediately that she was very big. She was very calm and not at all nervous and was circling us. She was very interested and was looking at us.”
