If you’re into watching porn, this is a good month to do it.
Chances are pretty good you watch porn. Chances are also good that you watch it on Pornhub. I don’t know how to check these things, but I’m pretty sure it’s the world’s biggest porn site. And on February 13, which is World Whale Day, they’re donating 1 cent for every 2000 videos viewed to The Moclips Cetological Society, a Washington-based organization dedicated to saving whales through knowledge and conversation. Yup. This is real. Don’t ask me how I found out about it. The campaign has been running since February 8th, and will end on February 29th.
Donation isn’t a new thing for the pornography giant, either. Pornhub runs something called Pornhub Cares, which donates money to charitable causes all the time. That means that by watching Christy Mack get gang-banged (or whatever you’re into), you may have inadvertently helped someone stuck in a violent relationship. When you clicked on the Big Tits category, you helped someone with breast cancer, and the Big Dick category planted over 15,000 trees on Arbor Day. I’d make some kind of joke about wood here, but Pornhub beat me to it. Feel free to make a joke about beating me to it, if you so desire.
“Here at Pornhub, we care deeply about the environment and the preservation of wildlife,” said Corey Price, Pornhub vice president, in what might be the greatest press release ever written. “We’re now asking our community turn their attention to — and help save — a different type of blowhole, one that belongs to a majestic species that once swelled in numbers throughout the oceans before commercial industries initiated their demise.”
So if you’re into watching porn, this is a good month to do it. Whales around the world are getting fucked, and not in a pornography way.
