What’s in the water these days? Earlier this week the surf world collectively drooled over Waco’s newest resident, a programmable wave pool powered by American Wave Machines’ technology. Then, video of Seth Moniz’s monster 540 (we’re calling it a 540) dropped propelling us to consider how quickly surfing is bound to progress if surfers have a perfect air section replicated for them over and over.
Not to be outdone, Maui’s 15 year old sensation, Eli Hanneman, told Seth Moniz to hold his Capri Sun and blasted an equally impressive 540 (we’re calling it a 540) in the ocean – a place you may have forgotten you could surf if, like us, you’ve been enamored with the wave pool news lately, or live in wave starved Southern California, or both.
