Friday the 13th is an unlucky day. Usually, that is. But this year, the stars aligned. Teahupoʻo turned into something everyone hopes for. It was, without a doubt, one of the craziest swells in recent memory. A heavy crew of chargers like Lucas “Chumbo” Chianca, Nate Florence, and Matahi Drollet were there to surf some of the heaviest waves of their lives — and score they did. In fact, Nathan Florence called it the “hardest he’d ever scored on a surf trip.”
