The Inertia

Adam Bennetts is a hell of a good foiler. One of the best on the planet, if you ask me. Foils, most of the time at least, generally excel in smaller waves. The foil itself sits deep in the wave, using the power from its guts. Of course, the inherent smoothness of riding a foil has benefits when waves get bigger — mainly avoiding those big lumps — but most of the time, we’ll just see them making tiny days way more fun.

Although Bennetts is one of the best in the world, he hasn’t foil surfed too much on bigger days. This day at Ballina, according to Bennetts, were “some of the biggest waves (he’d) ridden on foil.”

And while they’re not big waves by today’s ridiculous standard, this looks like a pretty decent way to spend an afternoon.
