When you’re looking at a wave that you might potentially surf, there’s a decent chance you’re at least partially thinking about what the bottom might look like. First and foremost, are there exposed rocks that could trip you up and put a painful end to your session? It’s a fine line to walk, of course, because shallow can mean barrels, but Mason Ho doesn’t even try and walk it. He just sees a wave and surfs it, bathymetry be damned.
