El Porto, in the South Bay of Los Angeles, doesn’t usually get good waves in August. It’s more of a winter surf spot. BUT… it actually got really fun on August 12, 2025. Not epic but fun. And the everyday surfer was treated to pretty solid waves in the middle of the summer. It was actually really cool to see.
So this is six minutes of surf at El Porto during a time of year you wouldn’t expect anything but shorebreak closeouts or small sniffs of south swell. Enjoy!
