Footage from a wild swell at Teahupo’o is still filtering in, and every minute of it is proof that it’s one of the most entertaining waves on the planet. Koa Rothman, as you’d expect, was there, but much like Tim Bonython, he captured too many great moments for just one video.
“What a crazy swell,” Koa wrote. “I’m not kidding, these waves looked 100 feet in person.”
The first part of the video you see here came out a few weeks ago. According to Rothman, these were the biggest waves at Teahupo’o in 15 years… but the waves ridden will remain in the surfers’ memory banks for a lot longer than that.
