Kai Lenny is an innovator. He’s not scared to be the first to try something. Haters are going to hate, and he’s certainly had his fair share of internet warriors telling him he’s a kook, but Kai Lenny is not a kook. Kai Lenny isn’t interested in how the collective does it — he’s interested in how he wants to do it.
He’s a multi-sport athlete with records all over the board. Put him on a longboard, a shortboard, a foil, under a wing, in front of a sail, and on any sized wave, and Kai Lenny is going to do something spectacular. One of his favorite places on Earth when it comes to wind sports is Hookipa, and he recently decided to combine a SUP and a parawing.
Like anything new, adjustments have to be made, so Kai – like most downwind foilers – uses an enormous fanny pack to stuff his parawing in when he wasn’t using it. It might not look cool, but Kai’s not doing any of this to be cool. He’s doing it because he has fun doing it… and that’s the whole point, right?
