Gold Coast surfer wiping out at Snapper Rocks

The only thing all surfers have in common is that we all fall. Photo: YouTube//Screenshot

The Inertia

If you surf, you wipe out. No one is immune, from the newest of noobs to the Kelliest of Slaters. It’s part and parcel of this silly little thing we all take way too seriously. But despite the fact that every single surfer on the whole planet has fallen off their surfboard, we are a judgy bunch.

That “bunch” is a little thicker on the Gold Coast, where there are both waves and surfers aplenty. After a summer filled with swell, the folks over at Surf on Mars thought it would be a good time to put together a classic, good old fashioned wipeout reel (they make “original surf videos from Mars and other close planets, but mainly from the Gold Coast of Australia”).

Shot over the course of a few months, it is packed with fails, bails, and hilarity.
