Jack Robinson has gotten off to a slow start in 2026. After finishing in the Championship Tour’s top five for the past four seasons, he currently finds himself sitting in 16th with just two heat wins in the first three events.
He’s had a rough run of luck, suffering a controversial interference call at Bells Beach, narrowly losing to Gabriel Medina at Margaret River, and losing another nail-biter at Snapper Rocks. At Snapper, with just 30 seconds remaining, he caught a promising wave needing an 8.5 to surpass Leo Fioravanti. But the judges only awarded him a 7.5 and another early exit.
But the following day after his elimination, Robinson was with the family at the beach — wife Julia and two-year-old son Zen. It helped wipe the slate clean as he prepared for stop number four of the Championship Tour at Raglan, New Zealand.
“This fixes everything,” Robinson said of teaching his son how to surf.
Robinson has fully become one of the CT’s surf vloggers now, joining his peers like Italo Ferreira and Kauli Vaast. In his latest episode, he rubs shoulders with legends like Mark Occhilupo and Joel Parkinson, surfs pumping waves at a few Gold Coast spots, and attends a surf film premiere.
He’ll look to get his tour campaign back on track in New Zealand, matching up with Vaast in round one.
