Kirra Point surfing

The Inertia

Sunday was a good day to be a surfer on the Gold Coast. For those up before the sun, it was one of the better starts to a day that anyone on Earth could ask for.

The waves were absolutely pumping at Kirra Point and Greenmount. As is generally the case on the Gold Coast when the waves are good, it was intensely crowded, but when there are this many waves, the crowds tend to feel thinner than they actually are.

Lines to the horizon and a million-and-one peaks breaking over the sand spaced the lineup out relatively well, and with the forecast calling for bigger waves Monday, things are looking good for surfers on that famed coastline.
