Uluwatu is one of the world’s most famous waves for a reason. It’s about as perfect as a wave can be. And recently, Outside Corner went off.
Outside Corner, as you likely know, is often considered the most difficult part of Uluwatu to surf. It breaks only when it’s big enough and turns into a heavy, racing wave with massive faces. When the tide is low, barrels can be found, and they are not small ones. But it’s a hard place to surf at size, so the crowd is often a little more manageable… that’s because the waves aren’t as manageable. But they are so, so worth it.
