Mahina Florence has been announced as Playboy‘s 2026 Playmate of the Year. She is, as you likely know, married to preeminent slab lord Nathan Florence. She’s the daughter of Kai “Kaiborg” Garcia. She’s proud of her heritage, and she wears it on her sleeve.
“I am over a quarter Hawaiian, reigning from the Mahi ‘ohana,” Mahina Florence told Honolulu Magazine in 2022. “My nana and late papa [grandfather] were the epitome of family, culture and heritage. They taught me to be proud of who I am.”

She’s paid her dues in the modeling world, despite being told she was in for a hard slog in the beginning stages of her career on the runway and in front of the camera.
“I remember my agents telling me that I wouldn’t book many jobs. [At the time] they were right,” she continued. “I knew it wasn’t my mindset that needed to be broadened, it was the rest of the world that needed to grow.”
And grow it did. With it, the demand for women who weren’t stick thin and white did too. Mahina began to book more and more jobs, including campaigns with Lulu Lemon, Target, Coca-Cola, Nike, and more. She was Miss April in Playboy’s Winter 2025–2026 issue, and now she’s taken the title of Playmate of the Year.
