Born, raised and learned to surf in the chilly waters of Old South Wales before packing up and moving to the warmer climes of New South Wales. Started surfing in 1979 by tagging along with my older brother and survived way too many hammerings before learning how to duck-dive properly in 1989. I moved up to Tokyo for work in 2005 after a surf trip through pre-tsunami Tohoku convinced me I could live in Japan.
