Every now and then, you run into someone who has some strange little quirk or belief that makes no sense to you. Maybe they’re a flat-earther. Maybe they’re a climate change denier. Hell, maybe they believe in man-made climate change. Or maybe they, like the guy above, are just a total and complete idiot and dump entire garbage cans off a boat into the ocean.
You, of course, are aware that we are choking our oceans with trash. Not you personally, but we as a species. According to some estimates, by 2050 there could be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Another one found that by 2030, the ocean could be so oxygen starved that it will struggle to support any life. There are a few people trying to do something about it–Boyan Slat, for instance, with his ocean cleanup array–but the only real way to solve the problem is to stop the endless flow of garbage we throw into the ocean every day. The guy above is just one small part of a problem that, apparently, too many people don’t know (or care) about.
