2017 marked the first successful #52weeksofnature Instagram photo contest. More than 4,000 people voted online to select a People’s Choice Award and a panel of professional photographers including Chris Burkard, John Barton, Mark McInnis and Jeremy Koreski selected the Pro’s Choice Award in a contest that collected 52 amazing images of nature; one for every week of the year.
More than 30 of the 52 winning photographers came to Hermosa Beach from as far as British Colombia, Mexico, Hawaii, and Florida to celebrate the yearlong contest. And now, HippyTree is continuing its #52weeksofnature photo contest for 2018. It’s easy to participate. Shoot a great picture that relates to nature, follow and tag @hippytree and post your photo on Instagram using the hashtag #52weeksofnature. Each week HippyTree chooses a winning image, reposts it, and awards the winner a $100 gift code and the chance to have his or her photo featured on a HippyTree product. HippyTree also makes a $100 donation on the winner’s behalf to either the Surfrider Foundation or Access Fund each week.
