The Inertia

I love this recipe because it is low in sugar and packed with nutrients, but most importantly because it tastes delicious! When you are at the grocery store getting your ingredients, have someone at the produce section open the coconut for you if you don’t know how. Once you have all your ingredients it’s time to make this amazing nutrient dense, brain and body fueled green drink.

Ingredients

1 thai coconut (flesh and water)
20 ounces of ice
½ cup organic apple juice
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
1 tablespoon of ground flaxseeds
2 tsp spirulina
2 dates
2 stalks of organic celery
3 large organic kale leaves
1 large heaping handful of organic spinach
Protein powder (optional)

Instructions

-Start by washing all of your organic produce, then set aside.

-Next fill up a 20 ounce mason jar with ice and empty the coconut water into the mason jar filled with ice, and then scoop out the flesh with a spoon.

-For your base of this smoothie add your apple juice, ice, coconut water, coconut meat, all your vegetables, dates, chia, flax, and spirulina.

-If you want it on the sweeter side and are just starting to incorporate green vegetables into your diet you can add an extra date for sweetness.

-If you like more of a green taste then you can add only one date.

-Blend it all up in a high speed blender, and enjoy:)

-I love drinking this smoothie after my workouts or as a meal replacement. You can also add your favorite protein powder if you would like.
