We live in their world. Case in point, a four-year old was attacked by a mountain lion this weekend near the small town of Rexburg in Eastern Idaho while the family was camping. Israel and Kera Butt say they watched as a mountain lion snatched their four-year-old daughter Kelsi between its jaws. The lion was dragging the girl away as her 10-year-old sister screamed for help. Kera Butt is crediting divine intervention but it sounds like the family’s quick reaction helped too as they charged the cat. The matriarch of the family actually saw the cat prowling around camp earlier in the evening, prior to the attack and was obviously thankful things ended the way they did. “The cat bit her on the side, tried to pick her up and drug her a little bit,” the mother said.
Earlier this spring, an Aspen, Colorado mother actually pried open the jaws of a mountain lion that had picked up her five-year-old son.
