The Inertia

This line, from Mr. Travis Rice, must have been exactly what the Jackson Hole native was mind surfing when he envisioned the Natural Select Tour. A series of snowboarding events that puts high-quality backcountry riding at the forefront of the mainstream consciousness. Well, his mind surfing has become a beautiful reality.

This week, Rice and Zoi Sadowski-Synott  won the Natural Selection Tour’s Revelstoke stop where the highly talented field of invitees basically put a day-long first-descent down in the Revelstoke backcountry – at a place known as “Boulder Park.” There was a whole lot of inspiring lines: see runners-up Blake Paul and Elena Hight. But Rice pretty much put the nail in the coffin with his high-consequence pillow line in the final. It was certainly one to remember. This is the type of top-to-bottom run he was scoping for the final. You can see his ridiculous final run below at the 2:49 mark.

Next stop for the Natural Selection Tour? The Alaska’s Chugach Range. Stay tuned.
