Sunset is not a place to surf if you have the strength of a newborn kitten. Everything is heavier there — the current is swift, the waves are as big as they are thick, and you will, no matter what, get your ass handed to you at some point. It’s a powerful wave for powerful surfing — aerialists need not apply — and a every session there is kind of like a look back in time. Back to a time when surfing was all about bashing huge, gouging turns on big, powerful waves. In the clip above, Barron Mamiya, Jadson Andre, Ethan Ewing, Jacob Willcox, Fred Morais, Callum Robson, Billy Kemper, and a bunch of others let rip on some big Sunset walls.
