Life in quarantine does have its benefits. Don’t get us wrong — on the whole, it’s not good. But The Great Pause has created one thing that’s a blessing: time. “Quarantine here in France has finally forced me to find some time for this project,” wrote Thomas Lodin, the creator of Spooky Boy, the film you see above. “It’s about my friend Mathieu Marechal surfing in California during our trip last fall.”
It follows Marechal’s thoughts about what he imagined California to be like versus what he found when he was finally able to go. And like most things, it wasn’t exactly as he expected.
