The East Coast has been getting its share of burly waves and burly weather this winter. It’s been one for the books. But dedicated surfers are truly some of the most hardy beings on Earth. They don’t care about burly weather and they love burly waves.
Sometimes, when that inclement weather aligns with swell, you get waves that look like Skeleton Bay in Namibia that show up on the New Jersey coast. They grind forever with powerful barrels not for the faint of heart. The Numb Skulls were there recently when it happened, including Rob Kelly and friends like Ben Gravy.
