Strike Missions is a fun little film series. Surfers generally like to get out of their own spot to explore other spots while complaining about other surfers getting out of their spots and exploring theirs. We’re a funny group. But still, one of the best parts of surfing isn’t so much riding a wave. It’s looking for waves. It’s a vehicle for exploration; an excuse to get off the beaten path and get lost in a strange new place. Sure, the waves are great, but it’s the in-between stuff that you’ll really take away.
This episode of Strike Missions features Ian Crane, Robbie McCormick, and Noah Wegrich. The trio watched a swell as it headed towards Chile, a place with hard-to-get-to and nearly perfect left-hand point breaks. The waves they got were so good they might — might — overshadow the act of looking for them.
